Hi All. New to reloading and was just wondering. I've got some Viht N160 that I'm trying out with Nosler ballistic tips (120gr 6.5 cal). I'd like to try out the the 140gr Sierra SPBT Gamekings but can't find any reloading data for it with N160. Has anyone tried this combination?

Vihtavouri give some data for the Sierra 140gr HPBT Matchking but can this be used safely with the 140gr SPBT Gamekings? Thanks

No problem with this, just start low and work your way up as with all reloading.

I agree. I have information indicating 46.7g as max load for Sierra 140g Gameking.
I use N160 behind 140g Gameking in my Sako 75.
Pm me if you want further information.

Andy.

Which 6.5mm?
There is a significant difference in max charges twixt x47, .260 and x55.

I use N160 with 120gr in my .260, found it a bit slow for the 140gr - still very accurate though.
And to answer your question, yes, the load data is interchangeable but as always work up.

I had HPS-TR reloading 140gr GameKings in my own Federal brass for my 6.5x55 and the rifle HATED the ammo! 3-4" grouping at 100yds, whereas I can get <3/4" with factory Fusion.

HPS are now reloading 140gr Hornady SSTs for me, and having fired off the first 15 just to play, they grouped <1" at 100yds immediately - albeit 2" high (good for a 200yd zero?)

f you're happy with the GameKings, then stick with them, but they were just awful out of my Sako 75 - even with the standard recipe of 46.7 grains of N160...
