Good morning all.
I live in Perthshire in Scotland and was introduced to deer stalking by my father over 30 years ago. I started accompanying him on stalks when I was 10 years old and shot my first roe 5 years later. I applied for a firearm certificate as soon as I was old enough and saved up and bought a Parker Hale rifle in .243. I currently own a Tikka T3 in .243 with a Schmidt & Bender scope and a Lawrence precision sound moderator.
I mainly stalk roe deer but do stalk red from time to time. I still go out stalking with my father every week at a number of different locations where we manage the roe population for the land owners. They comprise mainly of mixed farm land and forestry and a large area of hill farm.
The sunrises, sunsets, beautiful views and close encounters with wildlife of all types that I have experienced throughout the years makes me realise how fortunate I am to have been introduced to this fine sport.
I am looking forward to exchanging views and advice with like minded people.
Have a good day everyone and good luck in your future stalks.
