have a read of this tosh

Jesus f*cking Christ - how do they come up with this shite?! When was the last time you met a kid who was into hunting/shotguns/firearms who was a trouble maker? We simply don't tolerate troublesome kids in our sport so we produce well-grounded responsible young adults who have a respect for firearms and their elders.

Sad bunch of morons who waste time putting animal welfare before children - I notice they aren't lobbying to stop kids watching violence, sex, and drugs on TV/computer games?!??

its not that kids are troublesome or its doing them harm its a way to stop shooting sports full stop take away the kids no more shooting in the future , i am seeing a lack of shooting mags in my local areas the wife travels to hull for mine they are trying everything they can to take away piece by piece in any way shape or form to stop shooting sports , this is why i think all shooting orgs should get together and we aught to stand together voicing our rights against this crap that they sling in all directions , atb wayne

good god that is a lot of sh** are this lot from planet earth ? for goodness sake banning fly traps are this lot for real ?.

Tosh yes, but realistically, how many under 18s would this actually affect? I should imagine very few as most under 18s who will want to read shooting matter will have parents/relatives who shoot anyway so they will be introduced to shooting directly and will also have access to magazines through their parents.

My eldest is 13, a SGC holder and a BASC young shot. The only shooting magazines she reads is from BASC. She is also a member of Wilts Wildlife, RSPB and Woodland trust. She subscribes to Pony.

Can you guess she's not a Towny like the pilluks pushing this agenda! She has the most incredible sensitivity for life but understands that hunting is part of keeping a balance.

She got interested after a fox killed our ducks.

Make them top shelf. It's going to be sure to be seen and wanted by 14 year old boys everywhere. If they can break off from killing people for 2 minutes on their Nintendo etc!

How many of us shoot because we enjoy killing?

Complete rubbish!

What a load of F---ing shite, I am off up to WHsmith in a bit I do hope the ******s offer me a leaflet.

I think it is a great idea ;) The placing of w**k mags on the top shelf only seems to encourage the practice with the young, lets hope putting shooting mags in the same place has the same affect.

+1

I hope they're about when I pop down to WHSmiths.
I'll take as many leaflets as possible go round the corner shred them and bin them.
As for the numptys that are mentioned in the notes -
I wish they lived near me so that I could monitor their reaction when the area they live in becomes overrun with rats, grey squirrels and foxes.
Not that I would activley participate in such a thing as releasing pest animals in certain areas - no I'll leave that to the RSPCA and SSPCA:stir:

What surprises and frankly saddens me most is that this should be such a surprise.

At the risk of being seen to start a fight and after so few posts as a new recruit I cannot help but observe how slender hangs the thread of our passion and the ease with which so many either lose sight of the forces against what we do with rifles or simply have never considered this ever-present reality.

Perhaps its because I've only been to Sevenoaks Police Station twice in my lifetime but on each occasion to surrender firearms that I'm particularly sensitive to such reminders but an over the top reaction to this post or not I'm 100 % certain we dismiss this as nonsense at our peril.

I'm off to take a cold shower!

Cheers

Sounds remarkably like this Professor Peter Squires of the University of Brighton is a life long member of LACS! It's just the sort of rubbish that we would expect from these educated types with no real life experience!
Next thing you know we will be finding him trying to stop us red blooded blokes from watching Porn sites on our lap tops by telling us that it encourages us to have mad passionate nights of sex with our wives (Or other peoples wives) which might be the cause of the population explosion! - Or has he tried that already?

Just shown this garbage to a colleague at work, who happens to be an ex police officer, her reaction went along the lines of, is this man on drugs? when I was a bobby young people in rural areas, who were involved in countryside activities, like shooting, fishing, hunting ect were the ones least likely to be involved in any kind of serious crime, and also were the most respectful and sensible young people she encountered, if I am lucky enough to be offered a leaflet by these misguided ars----es, I would love to know what kind of SPORT killing animals is available to urban children as the good proffessor mentions, unless of course he means louts with airguns shooting swans ect in the local park?? hardly the type of SPORT written about in your avarage shooting publication.

who cares about the morons, it's just a sad way of wasting you life when you spend it attacking the way of life of others.

Going by the gist of this article, the young guys running around Moss side, Toxteth, east end of London et al, must have been inducted into shooting at an early age, else why would they be picking up guns now?

These muppets still haven't learned the lesson of history, if you prohibit something, it makes it more attractive to the young 'uns,, teenage years are all about trying the things you are not supposed to do be it sex, drink, drugs or in this case guns.

‘Children who kill animals for sport in urban areas are considered dysfunctional and a social menace. Yet, Britain has a gun lobby, composed of well-connected groups such as the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the Countryside Alliance (CA), that devotes considerable resources towards encouraging children to take up guns at a young age [SUP](3)[/SUP]. Their actions are damaging not just to wildlife but also to the emotional development of young people.’

Whats the BASC / CA comment I wonder?

The author of this @rse was on jeremy Vine on Radio 2 the other week.
I text in saying are they going to ban cookery books with meat in them to as surley these glorify killing just as much.
The really annoying thing was when CA PR chap phoned in Vine cut him off. Hope CA have complained.
Instead we had a UKIP MEP speaking on our behalf who the BBC obviously thought was more entertaining, he did his best but is a bit of a lose cannon.
