hello all,
this could be a silly question but ill ask it anyway.
I've recently started reloading for the above calibre.
Im using 117g Sierra Pro Hunters, 54g of N165, CCI large rifle primer,
Is there any way of working out bullet drop without actually trying it at a target,
i know the velocity over our chronograph.
thanks in advance
matt

You can download a ballistic calculator on your phone,Hornaday have one on there site, the reloading manuals have the drops in aswell, they are a rough guide,I mean rough, ive got the nosler manual,my 85gr nos bal tips are doing 3333fps frew my 25-06 and my drops match 3700fps,not sure why but they do out too 500yds,best to zero at 100 then shoot a group at 200 and 300 and match with what's in manual, use a rear sandbag to get groups as tight as poss, atb Swarovski

The above are what I achieved in testing two loads over 2011/12. Of course the data isn't quite what you're after, but could provide an approx. guide. I know the bullet drop on both to be pretty accurate as I tested both loads shooting @ 200, 300,400 & 500yds with Mike Dickinson last summer. ATB
