6pointer;507169 My point is this if some one who has been stalking for 20+ years can dismiss a shot so nonchalantly while i am on the ground with a dog at heal what chance will there ever be of a call out.[/QUOTE said:6pointer your are right there! Unfortunately this is the problem we are up against, a lot of people cant tell if they have hit a beast or are afraid to admit to a cock up!!!
Paul i wish you well i really do but ever the realist i cant see many deer stalkers taking up your offer. I had a chap out a while ago and he had a shot at a beast and he missed (SO HE SAID). I asked him were he shot at it and he was very upset that i should challenge him. Any way i put him in his car and had a nice chat and sent him on his way. I don't know why i did it but something told me to go to the shot sight it took the dog a while to find were the bullet hit and sure enough there was blood and quite a lot the deer was found only 60 mtr away stone dead. Perfectly spoken Michael and 100% correct.....thank you and well doneYou rightly say that we might be pushing against a firmly locked door but if enough people do that the door might just open....
Sorry Davie, sorry all of you.... I still wish you will be able to get some sort of proper tracking through all over the UK established, sooner or later....!
People who are "afraid" or even worried about this part of proper hunting (what all of us should have to do if something went seriously wrong) should ask themselves, what they are about.... Hunters, stalkers or just shooters, not taking care or thinking about the creatures they are dealing with while out in the field... What picture do we transfer to the public, when not trying our very best, with the best dogs and holders avaiable to stop a wounded animal suffering from a bad shot we took, or one of our clients...? What is about that imagine transfered to ourselves?
All of us should support attempts like Widus, with calling him, when necessary, to show our professional way of huting and dealing with the animals welfare....
I hope, all of you got me right, there is no personal offense mentioned and maybe I am not finding the exact right words, I wish all of you the best and always straight shooting!
