Good evening all,
Just a quick introduction as I've just registered; -I've heard SD mentioned by many over the past few years and thought that I'd finally join up. Excuse the following ramble but the de-fault warning from the administrator seemed stern .
I am in my mid-40's, married to a gorgeous lady(for 20 years!) , and have a son and daughter who love to come along (and hunt) on my trips. I live in Carmarthenshire, West Wales.
I started shooting at age 16 with air rifle, shotgun at age 17, and full bore rifle at 18. Have been lucky to have hunted in most parts of the UK, some parts of Europe and even the Dark Continent. I have a passion for bringing youngsters into the shooting scene and pride myself on mentoring and coaching potential shooters of all ages. I'm also happy to put people in touch with my contacts and network.
I'm a fan of the older (pre 75) Sakos and Heym as 'off the shelf' tools but also have a taste for some of the more bespoke stuff available on the market. My cabinet currently has a .222 (Sako), .243 (Sako), 7x57 (Sako), 7x57 (Daniel Fraser), .375H&H (Sako 75), .375H&H (Heym Express), and a .470NE (Heym 88B). Currently looking for a nice .416Rigby.
Professionally I hold a specialised Masters Degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering, and an Engineering Doctorate in safety of weapons, explosives and UAVs. I am a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering & Technology, and a full member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers. I'm really just a big kid playing with big toys!!!
I enjoy taking a handful of deer each year (usually muntjac, roe, fallow or red), and will take a trip overseas every 2 to 4 years.
That's it folks, look forward to hearing from you.
