Not a loaded question or having a go at anybody but just asking out of quizzical interest how did we get to calling quads quad bikes?
Motor bicycles have two wheels, motor tricycles have three wheels, but why do most of us say “Quad Bikes” when ATV quads have four wheels?
Have we got into the habit of saying quad bikes because we sit astride them like we would a bike. If so why don’t we say tractor bikes or in the case of a ride on lawnmower lawnmower bikes?
Oh the things that come into your head when you are sat in a high seat waiting for something to show and are thinking of how you are going to get them out if you actually manage to engage.
