Help Identify This Saddle Mount

The mount could fit any number of different rifles that use that system it's almost impossible to identify the actual make and model of rifle or gun it was intended for from the photographs. It's not an unusual mounting system in Europe. Are there any markings on the mount at all?

As to the actual make it certainly looks similar to mounts made by recknagel but the rear fixing is different to the current system of locking it in place. It could be made by Apel (AEW) but it could also be made by Virtus of Suhl or a Czech company whose name escapes me at the moment but I do recall that their products were imported by Edgar Brothers a few years back.

Thanks gents, no markings on the base at all, e-bay beckons!

Possibly a Kozap one, but what for is anybodies guess, but with knowing what it is for
it is worth very little to anybody, if you find out what it is for, £100 or more, I'd investigate a bit further if it were me.

Neil. :)

Kozap was the name I was trying to remember. Is the dovetail at the rear of the mount 11mm?
