+1 why shoot them long range when u Can call them in and ambush themTo answer this one is easy the moderated .22lr with subsonic bullets. Yes we know it's on the low powered side but for close range, less than 80 yds I have dispatched many an cunning reynard........
Possibly the .22 Hornet but as I could never take a thread cutter to my Anschutz 1432 I guess I'll never know.
man up and do it lad!!! lol
i get my hornet this week ive had a bang of it afore i said i would take it and its quite a bang from it so its straight to the gunsmith for screw cuting for me and hopefully its gonna be super quite!
I have 4 rimfires calibres and a .222
I use the same moderator on all of them, a PES T12 Scout
apart from the .22lr shooting subsonic the .222rem (shooting 50gr VMax with 22.2gr N133) is quieter than the .22WMR, .17HMR and .17Mach2
although no fox has ever complained about the noise!
MAYBE LOST ON SOME BUT

they do advise that you shouldn't use the same mod on a rimmy and centre fire....unburnt powder from the rimmys could ignite from the .222
My 17hmr with the ASE utra mod is quieter than my modded .222
