. Hello all, a quick intro is called for the admin guys ask...

I have been shooting almost 25 years but only rim fires .22 and .17hmr for the last few years. But have now been asked by farms to shoot the fox population which led to a .243. This calibre was chose because of the ability to stalk deer in the future being the minimum uk calibre.

i have not been stalking or shot any deer at all but was looking on the site to get a "feel" for it and maybe look into courses for the future..:-|

A friend has offered me the chance to stalk with him sometime and I,ll probably go for the experience, but for now I am a complete novice.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Whether to go on dsc courses or not. What moderator, if any, do people on here prefer as I currently don't have one but option is on the cert.....anything really.
Regards Dave;)

Welcome ,
if your mate is willing for you to tag along go get a feel for it .dsc 1 may follow but hands on experience with an experienced guide and or stalking partner is worth it's weight in gold .
kind regards
