I have see a lot of debate on the subject Factory rifles .243 that will stabilize Factory 100gr plus ammo, chronograph over 2450ft/sec or 1750ft lbs

If you have found you Factory 243 stabilizes Factory 100gr plus ammo, chronograph over 2450ft/sec

Please just write Make, Model, barrel length and twist of rifle. Make Model of ammo.

Sometime it is easyer to ask what will, rather than to debate all the specifications that won't.

sako 75 hunter 20" barrel wood/blued 1:10 RH twist will shoot and stabilise both norma 100g SP factory and nosler partition 100g spitzers reloaded.

haven't chrono'd them, but have shot big rutting hill stags with the norma SP's for a number of years out to 200yds and have had no complaints ;)

lots of choice in 1-10 most will out shoot the driver, but get the best you can afford tikka is a good bet, sako's 85 is my choice in 308 now running a rpa .243 likes geco ammo and loves a home load

You're asking the wrong question.

I've never seen a .243 with the standard 10" twist that wouldn't group 100gr. All such ammo will make 2450fps - that's 500 below nominal.

Now sit back and wait for the posts from those who have a lemon that won't achieve this. There's bound to be one or two about.

All the newer savage 243's have a 9.5 twist, just a wee bit faster, will do 100gn no prob so I am told.

Parker Hale 1100 Lightweight
100gr Interlocks
1/2" groups
VV data suggests the load clocks 2750-2800fps

You seem to be mixing to bits of law relating to Scottish legislation ? 2450fps relates to shooting Roe, and states a minimum of 1000ftlbs muzzle velocity. 1750ftlbs relates to shooting anything bigger than Roe in Scotland. The law for Roe or bigger in the UK/Wales is a minimum muzzle velocity of 1700ftlbs.

"Almost" every 100g 243 bullet with a muzzle velocity of 2850fps + will be achieving 1750ftlbs or more.

It depends on the bullet style I have a CZ 243 1:10 and it will stabilise 100 grn speer boat tail softs at 2795ft/s no problem, I think problems arise if you try to utilise the new VLD design which are very long a 1:10 twist might not even stabilise the 95grn VLDs, all the heads listed so far are the shorter squat traditional boat tail designs which are the majority of factory loads and should work fine.

Howa 1500 ( but rather bizarrely less so with the Wetherby 1500 :?: ) 105grain Geco, 100 grn Privi SP, 100grain RWS T mantel - all circa 1/2". Believe 1;10" rh twist.
