    Hi all,
name says it all but also starting to enjoy deer and lamping with my good mate LJS.

Woodcock are my passion and I chase them all over the British Isles, from England, to Wales to Scotland and its islands and also Northern Ireland.
I use a 20 guage and shoot over my own spaniels. Have also shot over pointers - not as easy as some might think.
Only need 1 to make my day !

Starting to get into stalking and deer watching with LJS as a mentor.

    all the best

Welcome to the SD! I too enjoy woodcock and it only takes one or even a chance of one to make my day! I shoot them over my Large Munsterlanders and thoroughly enjoy working the dogs for them as much as the shot.

I love creeping round the woods after woodcock too. In fact, that was the beginning of my stalking, as I don't have a dog, so I developped a technique whereby essentially, I have to act as my own. It works fine when the woodcock are around, although this last season was useless. I saw a single one all season.
