Now that I have sorted the 100 gr Noslers in my 6.5x47, looking to get a larger bullet, having had a look around I like the sound of the Barnes TSX in 130gr. There is load date on the Lapua site to get me started. Anyone tried them in this cal?

work superb in my .270 with 55 grains of H 4350, half inch group on the range and great knock down power on big reds :thumb:

Hi Mutley what load did you get the best results with the 100g noslers as I have some to load was wondering about vv550 as I have plenty!

I went straight in with 39 varget, first 3 shots touching at 100m, same poi as my 120 pro hunters, haven't chronyd yet. No ballistic benefit on long range stuff

Just chronyd it in the garden, 3044 fps from a 20" clean barrell, that's like a short action 25-06!

mutley, I'd say you've got room for a bit more if you want it, depending on what your rifle is telling you.

Mine are doing this according to bulletflight

drop at 300m is 37.7cm, 5mph wind is 6.1 cm for the 100gn nosler @ 3044
drop at 300m is 41.9cm, 5mph wind is 4.8cm for the 120gn fbsp prohunter @ 2812

Your 100's will be dropping quicker and drifting more..

i'll use a few on deer when I get through the pro hunters and give a report on performance..

If I was shooting 300 yards I would think about bit, but as I am not going to be shooting deer much over 100yrds I need not worry about drop and drift.
I will give the Barnes 120/130 a go with some N140 and have a play at pushing them a bit harder. I will also play with some Scenars for longer range stuff at Bisley.
