I'm going down to Scone on Friday (from Inverness area) - Anyone else going? - Which SD Trade Members will be there other than Murray Outfitting?

giving it a miss this year , theres nothing i need , and tbh its the same thing every year. bargains are thin on the ground too

Prices have gone up and the organisers are charging £2 to park in a insecure field. But i do fancy a go at the Gnat shooting. Warning £40 extra for electricity to your caravan or tent.

Gnat shooting...

I will be going on the Sunday, the wife likes to go and it's the only day she can manage due to her work.
I have only missed it twice since it started, last year because of the weather and 1995 due to ill health.

As others have said there are few bargains to be had, and if that's your reason for going you will probably be disappointed.

For my it's about meeting up with old friends and colleges, who are now scattered around the country and this is often the only day in the year we get a chance to catch up.

As BT says, more of an occasion for a day out and socialising than actually buying stuff. Although a couple of dozen oysters and a few free samples of Whisky and wine in the food tent is always a good way to spend an hour or so....

A long way to go for a cubic centimetre of cheese and a thimbleful of sugary liqueur?? I'm getting my plus 4's out with my gaitered knee length Douvres and DPM army jacket and get the wife togged out in her tweed miniskirt and Dubarry boots and leather cowboy hat complete with the cock pheasant feather..

Friday. Aggree with most of the above comments. Expensive day out and bargains are a bit of a myth now. Still going though! Kids enjoy it.

yeah its not cheap, bargains ...well I remember seeing some but that was years ago...but Saturday it shall be

JAYB has landed - and left! Now in receipt of a good quantity of SD Stickers @£3.50 a pop. Will be on our stand at top of Pheasant Row. Might not justify the entrance fee on their own, but John has agreed to smile at least three times daily! :D

I'm going up to scone on Saturday, I won a set of tickets so I'm all sorted.

Bit cheeky - but as this thread has many more views than the 'ad' thread for Sd stickers and us, seemed best place for this.

To help the cause and add an air of reckless excitement to proceedings ( do get a life! ;) ) I have placed a subtle mark on one of the SD stickers. Should you be the purchaser of this sticker, you will receive an emergency foil Blanket and whistle as a thank you for helping the cause.

I'll see how the stock goes and if we can will run it each day.
