Rimfire mod cleaning etc

Hi there,
im used to taking my cf mod off and using wd then drying in airing cupd after use, should I be doing this with the sak on my .22 lr?

also is leaving a rimfire mod on the rifle as damaging to the rifle as leaving a cf mod on?

all the best,
mike

Leaving it on is just as bad if not worse, just sniff it after use
I don't spray anything in a rimmy mod, but do clean when it starts getting louder, or accuracy goes.
Just pop them in an ultra sonic bath, or leave to dry and then tap the end on a wooden bench, any loose stuff will fall out.
The second method is my preferred, but I use a sealed stainless moderator, so nothing much to corrode anyway.

Thanks for that Neil,
I will make sure to remove it every time then!
its possible to get the sak open to clean so guess I can use soapy water on the middle baffle bit? Then dry before re assembly.
all the best,
mike

ps, don't have sonic cleaner.

Stick the middle bit in the dishwasher when the wife is not looking.
Don't put the outer in as it etches into the anodising.

Neil. :)
