Roe Buck / Steel wire

Thought this may be of Interest, Buck taken saturday evening, only realised what was going on when he was picked up....Steel wire well tangled In around his antlers and running down behind the left ear / under jaw and back round again nice and tight and starting to cut In...Could have been a sorry ending

Could it have been a snare?

No, there was way too much wire, probably an old bit of electric fencing left lying around on the farm...I have seen a similar situation with baling twine, really felt sorry for this fellow though...He was healthy though, which is good.

Glad you get him before he deteriorated.

We had a few similar situations with bale string in the deer park when the farm lads used to take hay in for the deer in the winter months.
