Dollag's Cottage is a newly refurbished croft house situated on a working croft on the west side of the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides. As this Autumn is likely to see the peak of the Northern Lights for this solar cycle and as Lewis is ideal for viewing them I thought to mention that the cottage is available for breaks throughout the year.
As well as Northern Lights, which will probably peak for the current solar cycle in October or November, there is lots to do on the island including 10 pin bowling at Ness or the heated indoor swimming pool in the local school for the less good days. There is also salmon fishing available until the middle of October and days at hinds and stags can usually be arranged with local estates. Days with the shotgun are also possible on many local estates. The island has a wide range of places to eat, some offering fantastic food and wonderful locations, and the little town of Stornoway is busy and there is usually live music and an active nightlife.
So, if you are looking for an Autumn or winter break (the cottage is fully booked until the end of September) with something for all the family and in a truly spectacular location be sure to take a look at the web site and give Dollanna a call:
