How's the Rut going - is it full on now guys

Convinced it is over here. Stalked 2 buck s last night, showed no sign of interest in my best sexy doe call. Carrying a few battle scars and no internal fat really. Oh well. Still a few months to go at them though.

I bagged another last night in the New Forest. A poor malform head, never seen him before. I had watched him nose to the doe's rear end on and off for an hour before he came into a shootable position. The prime buck was still around in the neighbouring fields. He came out of cover and went purposely across the field, I didn't see him again.

The previous evening I watched a buck covering a doe three times in as many minutes.

Would well like to have shot no 2... now that is different, was that due to liver fluke or rta when in velvet do you think??

I think he ran into a fence while Velvet, we found a couple like that this year with new stock fencing being put up.
