Hi,

Having recently split my head open, and having a comedy style running round the house for a suitable first aid item I released my current first aid kit isn't up to scratch.

I found some resources that looked good for advice, link below

T
here was also a good article on superglue for wound closing and pointed out the finer details of whats safe and whats not , recommend vet bond which could be more useful to carry for our four legged friends.

I have no connection to the above website, I think its a good resource.

Good links. The wound glue stuff is spot on - the conclusion (rightly so) is that there are very few wounds suitable for primary close in an outside environment!

Have used both vetloc and conventional super glue on both my dog and myself, to really good effect. The vetloc is expensive but is approved as it generates less heat when curing and doesn't produce formaldehyde and cyanoacetate, both toxic.
bog standard glue has fixed barb wire lacerations, cut paws and other scrapes on him. Its also fixed a severed finger tip that was hanging off, cut to the bone. Finger healed fully within a week. I carry a bottle in my field kit all the time nowadays
