Went out with my mentor today on his permission, after stalking 2 does in to some woodland and waiting for them to reappear which they did but right on the brow of the hill. After watching them for 5 mains they went back into the wood, we waited but some thing spooked them in the wood and they bolted across the field. We turned around to see if they had stopped in the next field but no luck. We were deciding where to go next when mr fox showed him self and had not spotted us. I set the sticks up and my mentor tried to squeak him in closer but he was have none of it and stayed where he was so I took the shot and he dropped on the spot .308 right through the engine room at 182 meters. This was my first fox/kill with my late fathers rifle.
