    Wild boar calibre

Anybody have any idea of requirement for wild boar.
I have a 7mm-08 and am under the impression for this calibre I need a 175 gr bullet with at least 2700 fps which doesn't seem possible with 175 bullet.

Where do you intend to use it?
Are there any legal requirements that stipulate this where you intend to shoot?
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

    Hi white van man,

I know of a guy locally who uses the 175gr Interlocked in his 7-08 but I'm not sure he has it going that fast though...

    Seems quick to me anyway...

May not be the best idea to go very fast. The bullet does not always behave as designed at higher velocities.

7mm-08 would be in my opinion fine for boar and have shot a few with mine. Suggest 150gr bonded core or partition type bullet would be fine unless there are local laws and regs specifying differently. If driven then maybe go heavier and accept they will be slower but big heavy and slow is considered by many to be the right medicine for boar.
