Thread: Ruger No1

    Ruger No1

Anyone have one of these and could let me know about accuracy achieved, it's been one of those rifles I've always wanted and have the chance of a nice one.

Not anymore. I used to have a No1B in 300 Win Mag but had to let it go to swing a deal for some collectables. It was the only way I could make the difference up at the time.

I didn't have any accuracy problems with it. A friend bought a new one in .243 Win that would bug hole with 85 grain bullets or less but with 100 grain bullets was 2 MOA or more.

Those are the two i have had dealings with.

I have 18 of them at the moment !
    From a 204 Ruger to a 416 Rem Mag !

I shot the smallest 3 shot group of my life with one of them . It's a #1B that has a custom Lilja stainless barrel chambered in 22-250AI , shot a 3 shot group that was .054" after sibtracting the diameter of the bullet !

    Lets see I have a 204 Ruger #1B , 22 Hornet #1B , 22-250AI custom #1B , 220 Swift #1V , 243 WIN #1B , 6mm Rem #1B , 257 Roberts #1B , 25-06 #1B , 264 Win Mag #1B , 270 WIN #1B , 270 Weatherby #1B , 280 Rem #1B , 7mm Rem Mag #1B , 300 Win Mag #1B , 300 Weatherby #1B , 338 Win Mag #1B , 375 H&H Mag #1H and 416 Rem Mag #1H .

I wanna get a #1B in 30-06 , the new this year #1V in 6.5x284 and possibly one of the limited run #1A in 6.5x55 or 6.5 Creedmoor .
    GO Manny Pacquiao !!!
    Doubles , 6.5mm' s , 444 Marlin's , cast bullets , Sika Deer and the Philippines

I have one in Rigby 416. Great rifle for Africa. I've never needed a second bullet very quickly right enough.

I have a heavy barreled one in 220 swift.

Shot plenty of roe and foxes with it and had the stock coated in camo by Hyrographics.

mine is a no1V in 6mm rem, it shoots 95gr ballistic tips into .5moa if im up to it. Not a rifle to get if you use a bipod though as groups open up a lot if you try using one on it!!!

always archie, and keep them close to the action for consistency when shooting out any distance, just put a photo on of mine, its a pity you are not closer you could have had a try with it.
Dirtdigger off this site had a try with mine last saturday and had 3 shots touching off a gate post at aprox 130yds!
Lke you i always wanted one, its an itch you have to scratch and i dont think you will regret it if you do buy one.

How could you K ? That's sacrilege. How could you despoil such a good looking rifle.

Please don't post the picture you will make me cry.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.
