I have done it, it will not hurt the cleaner or the bits in the mod
just dry it out before you fire it

I've used my ultrasonic on my ATEC Maxim: stripped it and give it a spin...bit too long as it started to loose some of the blacking on the aluminium bits.
Cleaned it quite well otherwise but I'll only sonic the baffles next time.

I'd not try it on a non-strippable unit like a T8.

I've done it in the past, but would now not do it to a rimfire mod that does not strip down.
You will end up with loose bits of crud floating around the mod as the ultrasonic breaks down the biggest clumps
but does not completely dissolve them. With a CF mode it seems to work well, but needs a fair size tank to take most c/f mods.

Why would he want to? A good squirt of oil or WD is all that should be needed after use.

I put my jet z compact in my sonic cleaner. It did clean it well but it also removed some of the outer finish and it looked horrible.
My mate has since resprayed it with black engine paint and it looks like new .
