Emergency First Aid Certificate

Black Lab,
sounds stupid but what do you mean by "Emergency 1st Aid"? only ask as I'm an assessor for HSE First Aider at Work and frankly for shooting purposes its a bit lame. if its for shooting in the field, you'll be looking for courses involving use of CATs (combat application tourniquet), celox or quikclot (clotting agent) etc, which is obviously a bit extreme for offices where the worse you'll get to treat will be falls, breaks, migraines, etc.
So ring around and ask lots of questions about content. Be warned they can be expensive!

Wullie,

I did one just up the road at the Glasgow Climbing Academy (Kinning Park) with “Outdoor First Aid Ltd”

Welcome to Outdoor First Aid

Cost was £130 for 2 day course with 3 year validity

The course was an “ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid” and covered:

SQA Unit UB74 04 - Emergency First Aid in the Workplace and
SQA Unit U422 04 – First Aid for Outdoor Incident Management

Dates of courses on their website

No connection to the course provider etc but I found it a great refresher, not just for stalking (I needed a 1st Aid cert regardless ) but everyday life in general

Anyway, If you need any further info or if you want a copy of a PDF "Wilderness Remote Survival" manual I have, PM me your email address and I can forward it on, its worth a read in prep for the course.

Hope that helps
