African Swine Fever detected in southern Lithuania

Has anyone heard anything more about this? At the end of last week two cases of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar were detected and confirmed in southern Lithuania. The EU has moved swiftly to approve restrictions on the movement of pigs, pork & reproductive material in the 6 affected districts of Trakai, Šalininkai, Azdijai, Varna, Alytus & Druskininkai close to the Belarusian border.

Yes, a draft law went before parliament last Thursday mooting a 90% cull.

I'm not sure what the latest is but the outlook is bad.

They think it came across from Belarus.

Not good times for Lithuanian hunters.
