Just found these in my lawn. I can't find them in my mushroom identifier book.
Does anyone know what type they are?
Don't worry- I'm not planning on eating them!
They are 2-3 inches across, about 2 inches deep and quite hard/leathery in texture.
I was looking at some of these this morning in the woods. Scarlet Elf Cups which grow on rotting wood. Edible too and one of a few that grow in sub-zero temperatures. Amazingly bright in the drab winter woodland.
