    Open range near Manchester?

I have a recollection that there was a range somewhere near Manchester where you could basically book a range and turn up - might have been in the penines somewhere? Am I imagining this? Just looking for 100yd range for some load development.

Diggle is a great range but is not what you are looking for if you want to use 100m range for developing a load without becoming a member.
But if you can get up there and join then the members are a wealth of knowledge, also there is an age concern shop on site that sells most things that you may need.

If I still lived that way and had not been a member of Diggle I would have gone to Calton moor just on the number of people that have had nothing but good things to say about the owner.

Calton moor is great and Mike will be more than happy to give advice, use it myself for zeroing and also stalking quite a few times.
