I will start reloading for the 243. I will buy Norma " Jaktmatch" ammo for the range and use these cases as a basis to start reloading. What is the diffrence between the Vihtavuori N100 and N500 series? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ?

Get n160 the 500 series are high energy burns barrels quicker n160 is great powder in 243

In all calibres I am a "heavy bullet for calibre" man. So I will probably shoot 100 grains on game and 95/105 grains for target work ( no competition). I see shooting at the range as a practice for better shooting on game.
On deer I would like to try 100 grain Nosler Partitions, 100 grain Gamekings or even 85 grain Barnes TTSX. For the range I think about the heavier matchkings. N160 was my first idea, but than I discovered the 540/500/560 in the reloading data. My shooting pal also uses N160.

Hey up Simon. I Use N160 in my 260. You're more than welcome to some if you wanna try it out.

yep and I also use n140 from 55gr in my 223 to 300gr in my 375 h&h with 22-250, 243, 308 in between. But it's certainly not the ideal powder for most of them!!!

but gun go bang and deer fall over

 quite so, if we needed to put x10's in at 400 yrd to 1000 then yup ,bullet and powder/primer/case's matters a lot but as you say 4" and anything under that is a joy.:tiphat:

I had good results with N165, 46g with 100g bullet gave ave 2873 fps and very very accurate, this with Sako 75. N160 favourite giving 3092 fps with 95g Nosler, reason I went to N165 was I couldn't get N160.
