I had a call from a friend who's client had maybe lost a roe buck this evening,
be the time we met it was getting on for last knockings as we made our way to where the shot site was, the shot placement was reported as maybe a bit towards the back but not much,we spent a long time trying to find the SS and I was about to give in and say that maybe I come back in the morning when I found a spot of blood, on with the tracking lead and within another 10 meters another blood spot, one or two more twists and turns and Brit had located the buck, not a particularly long or difficult trail for her, but the more deer exposer and live trails she gets the better she will be.
many of you are going to say I should have given it more than the hour we gave it but the decision was made by us to try and track it.
and all ended well with three happy men and one dog.
i big thanks to my friend for calling.
