Hello, my name is Jules Cox and I'm a wildlife photographer

    Hi everyone

My name is Jules Cox and I'm a wildlife photographer working on a long term project on Roe deer for a book about the species

I specialise in British and Northern Wildlife (bears, wolves etc). You can view my work at

I am good friends with forum member TerryC who has been a brilliant help on the project and from whom I have learnt a lot about Roe behaviour and stalking.

I understand deer management and will be including a chapter on it in the book. I'm also a meat eater and understand and appreciate where it comes from!

If anyone can give me a hand with the project in terms of access, I'd hugely appreciate it. Hoping in particular to do something on roe in heather habitat next month...

Great work. Are you looking for a variety of habitats to take pictures in or just heather?

a good question. I'm looking for the Roe's full range of habitat, so everything from woodland to arable farming to urban (cemeteries etc). Anything really...any help with this greatly appreciated

I have access to forestry and woodland, also arable but I may be abit far for you to travel.

I have known Jules for a considerable amount of time and have found him to be trustworthy and discreet re the locations that he uses, there is no hidden agenda regarding this request as I have had Jules with me while engaged in stalking and he understands the need for a balanced population and the reasons behind what we do and wishes to bring a greater understanding regarding these animals. I suggested he posted here as I have no local access to heather sites.
    Regards Terry
