Thread: Cold winter leaves starving deer

    Seems a fairly balanced & informative little piece.

    I shot a couple of fallow at the weekend, a pricket and a yearling doe. While they certainly were not starving, they were not in as fat condition as I would normally expect to see here. These were lowland deer in N Ireland who live much easier lives than highland deer.

    The last couple of Sika I shot in the hard weather over new year were covered in fat. I have not taken anther Sika for about six weeks.
