100x .308 £54-56 (largest case, most amount of brass)
100x .223 £65-70 (smallest case, least amount of brass)
100x .243 £85-95!!

:cuckoo:

Am I missing something?

Totally agree, have a look at 6.5x47 price! !!! Guess it's a case of being able to make a big run of common stuff making it cheap.
Regards
Jimmy

I'm sure it's just a case of "charge what you can get away with".

308 Win, plenty of competition, lower prices.
6.5x47, no competition, silly prices.

^Exactly the case I think, also no development costs for the .308

6.5x47 is a newer design of Lapua's own so maybe an element of trying to recoupe design costs, just glad I don't shoot a .338

I was looking at the costs of other 308 cases the other day and surprisingly Lapua was the cheapest even beating the Yanks stuff.

Roger that. I can load .308 using new Lapua brass, primer, powder and bullet, for less than the price of just one .338 bullet, let alone the 102gr of powder, and a £2.95 case.

.308
Brass, 59p. Lap
Bullet, 42p. A-max
Powder, 21p. 45gr N140
Primer. 4p. CCI large rifle

Total, £1.26.

.338

Brass, £2.95. Lapua
Bullet, £1.45. Barnes lrx
Powder, 69p. 102gr us869
Primer, 5p. Fed 215 lrm

Total, £4.14

thats a pricey Amax.

I don't use the amax in 338. Though if I did, they are around £46 for 50

Oops, just seen your highlighted bit. Yes, that was steep, but it was last I could get hold of, so paid it. Though they are only a few quid per 100 less when available.

So wouldn't .223 be cheap on that basis ?

I'm assuming that you are suggesting that .223rem Lapua cases should be cheaper because of large military contracts. While Lapua sell large volumes of .308w cases for specialist (sniper) use to military and police in many countries, I don't think that they sell significant very large volumes of their .223r cases to the military other than perhaps to some Scandinavian countries. I could of course be wrong on that but personally I haven't seen any ex-military Lapua .223 cases knocking around but have encountered .308w cases from both the military and the police.
