Thanks to a local taxi driver the car that this plate has been sat on for the last 9 years is now a write off and won't be replaced like for like so the plate has to go.
The photo only shows a partial number - the power of Photoshop, but there are two numbers after the S.
I did a very quick online valuation just with one company and they said the plate was worth £550 to me after charges which are initial retention fee of £105 and transfer fee of £25 and whatever their mark up plus VAT. Without any mark up that comes to over £800 if you were to buy it from a specialist. I can forward a copy of the valuation e-mail to anyone who is serious about buying he number from me.
I'd like to see at least the £550 they have valued it at so that is what I will ask for it.
I will also throw in a free wheel cover to match the main theme of the reg number - be aware though that it has been on the car for 9 years so is not new!! It will fit 215/65R16 or similar sized tyres.
The retention form has been sent to DVLA so should be back with me in a couple of weeks and the insurance company have confirmed they will provide a letter of 'no interest' in the number once I have the retention form back so it is all above board.
The reg can only be transferred to a car that was first registered in 1998 or later.
