how about this for strange ?

i was on my was home from stalking this after noon and i pulled up to pick up a phone call beside a sugar beet spoil heap and found a roe fawn , in full winter coat standing 20" high soulder to hoof and the body length is 27" from tip of her nose to her rump and a good body weight .

there is very little body decay apart from the eyes missing so in estimating she has been dead about a week if that long ,

any body local who wants to have a look is more than welcome !

cheers

Bloody Hell! Climate change does exist after all!??:

Interesting post - Thanks Lee.

Hi Lee

I take it the neat little hole just behind the foreleg was due to Magpie or Crow

Max

max ,

the mark behind the front leg is not a bullet hole ! the poor little bugger im thinking is the result of an RTA , with a serious belt to the head . the carcase is in quite good condition !

cheers

Lee.

what is your point? or am I missing something.

Deer dyeing in a hard winter is nothing new nor is finding very small roe in norfolk I shot one the other week about the same size wieghed 9lbs un-grallocked

his point is probably the fact that they are usually born in may onwards
