Hi folks just wondered if anyone could shed any light on this?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the deer legal load in England for Red deer to be 1700ftlbs, and obviously bullet diameter larger than .240", just say for arguments sake you can get a 70g-80g bullet to travel fast enough, and meets the 1700ftlb requirement out of the muzzle, but it may be less than 1700ftlb at 100 yards, is the round still deer legal? Basically is the 1700ftlb measured from the muzzle or downrange energy?
This is purely theoretical question I'm not looking to go shooting Reds with 70g bullets before someone jumps on this with the whole ethics of it all, just curious
Any input (constructive) welcome
