Deer Target

A friend is coming with us on his first fallow trip next month, he has shot Roe and Muntjac with a guide, but fancied something a bit different and bigger.

So I knocked up a target this afternoon with what was spare in the work shop, I asked him if he would neck shoot a deer and the answer was no...so that saved on the ply wood....

It stands 33" with a blind plate at the back so I can slide an off cut in between the angle iron.

Not designed for years of use but it should do the trick and get him dialled in....

one observation..might last longer with the spike attached at the arse end.
had many a single spiked target blown to bits by fluke hits on steel rods

I was thinking the same, a spine or shot tight to that foreleg will make a mess of the frame.

Nice work otherwise.

Always good to blow something up as it gives me something to fix....If he uses more than 4 shots to get dialled in then, I will leave him in Essex.....

Or the alternative is become a member on here...

To be fair he is quite a good shot, however nothing like getting dialled with a bit of practice....
