    Stalking Newb

    Morning all

I've been target shooting for several years but would also like to get involved in stalking. I'm based on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire/Lincolnshire border and would like to hear recommendations about the best way to get involved in terms of whether there's anywhere local to me, kit I'll need in the short term, etc. Also, at what point do I need to consider the BASC training?

    Thanks in Advance, Mike

Hi and welcome. Like you I had no experience of deer stalking, but lots of target and quarry experience. Because I did not have anybody to show me the ropes I enrolled with the BASC scheme. There is other scheme just as good. I found it enjoyable and I learnt a lot. So for me it was worth while.

You could look into doing some paid stalks and/or do the DSC 1 qualification. Welcome to the site, its got all you need to know (and a lot you dont!).
