So you are talking typical woodland stalking distances with some longer range shots (up to say 300 yards) for foxing.
Personally I would take the common approach of a 1" high point of impact at 100 yards however have you considered the "most recommended distance" approach? Have a look in some of the ammunition catalogues or websites such as RWS, Sellior & Bellot and Sako, they generally explain this idea quite well. Then if you do decide to go that way get some range time in with your actual rifle and ammo and learn from your results at the various distances.
