Tikka T3 30-06

Just wondering if all standard T3's in 30-06 are 1-11 twist rate?

Gixer

It would appear so, but follow these links.............

On that basis any other T3 twist-rate would be non-standard.

U.S. makes seem to be standard 1:10" with a few in 1:12".

This does make one wonder if a preoccupation with rates of twist matters very much in practice. The only occasion that I've ever seen where this has had an effect is military 5.56mm Nato 62gr - and commercial equivalent designs - fired from standard 1:12" .223 Rem which flew all over the shop. Some shots failed to register even on 4' by 2' target boards at 100M, so only God knows where they went:D

they're usually 4 legged and furry

Ahhh actually those I saw were paper and it looked like someone had shot it with SSG. Yet feed the same rifle 85 Grain bullets and the grouping was really good almost one hole even.

No it was not mine, this is one reason I avoided the .243/6mm ............ then I ended up owning three of them, this particular rifle was a lovely young lady whom now works for a outdoor clothing outlet in Sussex and whom I have known since she was a school girl with long plaits.

That's what I was getting at, it appears Tikka went for non standard but I wondered if the 1-11 was the new standard.
