Red Stag - Dropped Balls??

I don't know for certain, but most farm animals are born with them descended already. If you've seen one without then it might have been a cryptorchid where the testicle is retained in the abdomen.

Why do you want to know - is it a pub question?

Hi,
thanks for the reply.

I have checked Whitehead and he says 'within weeks'.

LoL - no time to get near a pub - one was recently shot with pizel with nohing on the outside and nothing 'extra' in the inside.

What calibre pizel did you use!!

It is likely that the testes were well within the abdomen. As they develop close to the kidney they can be anywhere from there to the inguinal ring (the hole in the muscle where they come through). In a true cryptorchid, the testes are often much smaller - they can be a bugger to find in a dog or cat (need removing as higher risk of cancerous change).

Lol, amazing how an innocent sentence can read another way!.

That is probably what we have, would they have been taken out as part of the traditional gralloch or when the pelvis was split & the canal offal removed?
