Wecome to Finland, hopefully You get something more than just fresh air!

On the first video the dog works as it should. It barks only when the moose is standing or moving slowly. Dog on the second video barks and the moose is running. Strictly it is even against the law. Good dog "hypnotizes" moose so man can go near the animal and just pull the trigger.

Here is couple pictures from last season;

There is my neighbour and my dog on the first picture. Thats me on the second.

Why did no one pull the trigger in that video? Wouldn't you just piss your pants if you got the opportunity on him!

Christian (my scandanavian contact), is there on holiday, the ground is run by some of his family.
On the drive into the grounds saw an 8 point bull moose and some white tail bucks (still in velvet). That moose my have gone by the time we arrive as the range massively (but also some will wander through) but the W.T. should be about. :D They move inland from the coast and pass through daily.

Getting a proper location now but its 30 min east of helsinki and just inland so is a great place for the moose coming inland in the fall.

( Uusikaupunki ) is about 250-300 km from Helsinki and some more from the hunting place.

John, I might have been interested, however, I understand you have to take a fence post or find a suitable tree to fire at if the targets aren't too good to shoot, so I'll decline- sorry Paul couldn't resist

Right there is one place left on trip 1 as someone has changed dates.
1st nov-5th nov= 1 place. The quota has come in and the amount of whitetail that is allowed to e shot has been cut so hopefully there will be some tags on this hunt. PLACE NOW GONE.
29th nov-3rd dec=2 places left. The whitetail tags will have been shot out but as snow and cold expected on these later dates there will be more chance of pigs from the seats. And so i've been told the bigger bull moose move through this area then.
There are NO extras or trophy fees on any hunts.
regards john
Cost of hunt is 750 + beer/extra english food(40 euro'ish) + flights frist trip booked from Gatwick were 160 + guns 25eu each way.
Thats only about 1K all in.

26-07-2012, 18:06
Deposits in now, so I can confiirm there are ONLY 2 plces left then thats it for this year.
Don't be disapointed book now for the 29th nov-3rd dec hunt.

31-08-2012, 11:07
x2 guns left on 29th nov-3rd dec trip.
We think the whitetail tags will have been reached by then as the govenment have halved the tags this year. But the colder weather should make locating the boar easier and the bull moose should be coming of the coast by then and travelling through the grounds.
Predators and roe inc.
NO trophy fees on any quarry.

www.yorkshireroestalking.
15-10-2012, 12:23
1, possible 2 guns left on second trip.
pm for details.
prospects for moose, and boar look good.
whitetail tags may have been shot out by then as the government have cut the cull numbers for this year?
there are roe, fox and jackal also. and on very rare occasions lynx.
My european jackal.

Very surprised you have tags for Lynx, in the area I was in only 3 could be shot and that was between about 10 hunting groups, we did see one at 80m could have shot it but no tags, one of our guides said he had only seen 5 in 25 years hunting, so I guess we were lucky.
But then the Finns don't stalk they only stand and wait.

no wayne they were very small for the size/age if the boar i boiled them out and brought them home and they didnt make much more than 3 inches unfortunatly.
and thanks to all who made the trip so enjoyable dispite us only having 1 day's moose hunting i throughly enjoyed myself and will be back next year with the right kit and hopefully a better understanding of what to expect, thanks again John.
