This is a chance to take a quality wild Mouflon ram over a 3 day hunt with 4 night stay for a very reasonable price. I will be attending myself and there will be space for 4 other hunters.

Details are as follows and included in the price:

Daily rate in Czech 3 days hunting on a 1x1 basis (I guide to 1 hunter) + day of arrival and departure.

Hunting licence and insurance

1 MOUFLON RAM with 185 - 190 cic measurements

All meals and refreshments.

Transportation within the hunt area.

Guides and translator

Field preparation of trophy

Transport to the local taxidermist

Veterinary export permits

Trophy evaluation based on CIC.

DOES not include:
Transport form airport, normally 300 euro per car.

trophy fees excluding the trophy already in the package.

Booze.

packing and shipping of trophies.

Tips and gratuaties

OK now the finer details:
a/ if the client shoots a smaller ram he will pay less for the trophy fee.

b/ If the client shoots a bigger ram he will pay more, but if you do not want to shoot a really big ram there is no pressure to do so.

c/ If client wounds and losses a ram 50% of the fee is returned.

d/ If you miss the booked ram 70% of trophy fee is returned.

e/ If the client shoots his ram early he can hunt for the rest of the trip. Usually we can give a discount on a second ram and or a reasonable price for Wild Boar, Roe or Red Deer.

f/ If no chance is offered to shoot/take a ram then client is returned the full fee of 1300euros.

This trip is planned for the late October through to 15th November when the Mouflon are rutting. This is a fair chase hunt, no fences and the area is well known for outstanding trophy Mouflon. I will be escorting a group of 4 hunters, and taking your own rifles is not an issue with a EU FA passport.

TOTAL COST IS 2385 EUROS. THIS INCLUDES 1300 EUROS TROPHY FEE FOR A GOOD MOUFLON RAM.

For all those interested I can vouch personally for the operator and my Finnish friends organising the trip with me. I have hunted in Finland twice and have known both of them for a number of years. A trophy Mouflon ram is on many peoples wanted list and I will be there to oversee the taxidermy field prep and be on hand to help where needed.

If you want to go PM me and put your name down ASAP. Only 4 places available.

Thank you

Hi Malc,

I am really interested in this..

Is it possible to have a rough price for a representative boar aswell

Ive tried to get a picture or an idea off the internet of the size of ram that might be expected for the details given 185-190cic with not much luck.

Also what would you like as a securing deposit and when will that be required to secure a place.

Cheers for the phone call, see you soon

27-01-2014, 10:08
Mike it is likely to be the beginning of November as I am in Scotland with clients and the SD week in October. The prime rut time for Mouflon is late October to mid November, although December can also be good.

It looks as though I have 2 people already, and if you are in Mike you will be number 3. Once I have all 4 confirmed I will require a 500euro deposit to secure the place. But everyone will get a full pack and rundown on the hunt before deposits are received.

Or ive got Rab, a couple of Andy's and a few others due a Deep Sea fishing trip maybe we could have a blinder in Poole?

That would be nice Terry. Time goes very quickly and I have been very busy all this winter, without much of a break. Still have some work to do on the new house and my new workshop, but we are nearly there.

You could come down to West Sussex or I could come to you. Its been a long time since I went seas fishing so maybe a trip to the west country will be in order.

I am sure we will have a great time In Czech and with luck a very nice Mouflon ram each:D

Off stalking today, with one last sign off for Andy's Level 2 hopefully and a sprinkling of clients until Sunday evening.

Best

Hi Lawrence,

Yes and No to be honest. Yes the weather has been terrible, but in many instances we have escaped the worst of it. But the ground is terribly water logged and makes walking quiet not easy.

I have just had a group of 4 Finnish clients for 5 days, and we took 9 deer. 3 CWD including a medal buck, 2 Muntjac including a medal buck, 3 Roe does and 1 Fallow buck.

The Fallow are proving elusive at the moment, but that's not unusual for Fallow at this time of year. It has been a very busy winter, non stop and I have bookings right up to April so am very fortunate. Plus I now have about 12 commissions for taxidermy work and am already fully booked for Scotland 2014.

We still have a few CWD left for you Lawrence ;)

Hope the family are well and prospering.

The family are well thanks, apart from the recurring colds. YMPM is about to start dabbling in solids, which will be another adventure.

Glad you kept me some CWD, although I'll be more than happy with just the one. Perhaps with a little muntjac to stuff it with. Perfect public transport-friendly quarry, these miniature sabre-toothed deer!

What sort of terrain would this be over and what sort of range would you expect to have to shoot?

Martin

sikamalc
03-02-2014, 10:14
Rolling hills and deep woods for miles, and anything up to 200yds I would guess. Much like Scotland in that you should be prepared to take beasts between 100 and 200 yds.

However as the rut will be on it should make the hunting slightly easier.

This trip is already booked out.

6 hunters including myself booked for this year. If anyone is interested in next year 2015, please Pm me and we can arrange package again.

Watch this space for more hunts in Europe and a variety of game to hunt with top quality areas, accommodation and logistics. Please feel free to PM me or call me for a chat and details.
I will be back in touch with all those who have expressed an interest in the Driven Wild Boar hunts on my return from Prague. We are looking into the logistics of small groups of 6 to 8 rifles for Boar next year on very good areas with plenty of Boar.

Yes Scrummy.................take it to the edge of a cliff, sheep will push back :D

If I am lucky to take a good head I will shoulder mount mine. I am sure we can arrange delivery to my home and I can undertake the work for you, or deliver it onto a taxidermist of your choosing.

Scrummy, there is a French proverb that says "Do not sell the bear's pelt before you have killed it". I think that it probably applies to mouflon too!

That said, I like your approach to soft furnishings.

I generally find that whole skins make very poor rugs, the hair usually breaks up and before long it looks pretty shabby. Mouflon are not that big as a shoulder mount Mike. Anyway lets see how we get on first. It is after all unfenced fair chase hunting on a private estate, but I am sure we will see plenty and with luck get one each.

Time will tell.

I feel privileged because as of last weekend, I understand the smilied ram joke. It would be great if you could come along Trevor, it's more fun when there's someone to share the adventure with. And I'm more than happy to help with dragging any fallow around. After all, between Malc's shoulder, your six-million dollar knee and my dodgy lungs, it may take three of us.

I think they have some driven boar and/or deer planned - if they can drag their collective hangover out of bed that is

All back safe and sound. Quite a trip, 5 trophy Mouflon in 3 days!! (3 bronze, 1 silver and a nice mature representative) I will put a write up in the articles section a little later.

I am working closely with my colleague in Czech and we are going to take further bookings for next year and through out the year for Wild Boar. I have another group leaving shortly for Wild Boar and we are planning more groups soon. Details will follow.

These will all be PROFESSIONALLY run with all the logistics in place and at reasonable prices for quality areas and service.

THESE ARE ALL FAIR CHASE AREAS UNFENCED, TRUE HUNTING.

Awesome hunt Malc.

Quality accomodation/guides/ hunting.

Couldnt have been better.

Roland and the guides could not possibly have worked harder or been more generous.

My one niggle was taking my ram with a Blaser :D other than that can you please put Egis and myself down for next year. Two deposits waiting when needed.

Big thankyou to Ross, Ricky, Scrummy and yourself Malc for making it such a fantastic trip..

Well next year for the first one is just about booked already with 4 confirmed. I will be arranging two hunts for next year in early November which is right in the rut for Mouflon.

So anyone that wants to go please PM me ASAP as I am nearly already booked.

WILD BOAR next in November and I will repost back soon about forth coming opportunities and will contact all those that asked to be kept informed and on the email list.

Hunting is always fair chase in quality areas, with quality accommodation, guides, transport and some of the best areas open with experienced people.
