Teckel - indestructable bed

Apologies if this (i) has been done before or (ii) is posted in the wrong place.

Can anyone recommend a dog bed which a Teckel will not destroy?

Thus far he has, successfully and very proudly, shredded everything we have tried.

Many thanks in advance.

How old is it? I had one that shredded everything and the other didnt. They grew out of it as they got older now they shred game.

Cube - I have one! My answer was to be a tuffie (I think it's called). Cost a fortune but still going strong. Everything is rounded.
They have a photo of one on their web site.
Any challenges - pm me.
Good hunting.

Well good luck if the dogs got that much energy in it , then it needs to be out Hunting.

My three teckels have a memory phone dog bed they share with no issues. One of mine did go threw a phase of destroying things but now out of it. Me personally I be wrong I'd be looking at his reasons why he's destroying it and looking into when. When mine chew the carpet I used chilli powder to deter from any form of bad behaviour and used raw hide chews and antlers. With a week of persistent and consistency no more damage.

Alot of my dog bad behaviour from chewing I put down to teething.

Have a box close to his bed into which you place all the cardboard waste for recycling - cardboard boxes etc. He will shred them and they then fit in your recycling bin. All puppies need to chew and play - give them things that need shredding! Yes it makes a bit of a mess but only takes a minute to clear up and doesn't cost anything.

Save your money until he's older. I bought a Tuffie when my Lab was young and it got destroyed. Agreed, it lasted longer than other beds but that's not much consolation when it cost so much!

When I've had a chewer in the kennels I rub red hot curry paste on the area that the dogs chewing and then put a dab on its nose ( I love the stuff but they don't ) they always stop chewing after that a bad chewer can wreck a kennel in no time

Just looked out of curiosity, nearly £200 for a Tuffie nest !! Got to be joking surely, it's only a bit of cloth stuffed with foam, and mass produced at that.

My jack Russell was a bugger for chewing I have a photo somewhere of when he demolished my cockers bed. I went down the route of crate training. Well it's a cage lets not beat about the bush. But he loves it now. In the car, when we go away it's a safe place for him. He loves it. Best thing I have ever done.

currently he is curled up in a blanket at my feet. At the call of bed he will be straight in the cage on his back chilling.

I hated the idea to start with but it was a matter of cage or he went, the damage he caused was terrible. The cocker was perfect and we couldn't identify any other behavioural issue.

I honestly think is was the fact his home is like a den. Might work for you. Teckels are a terrier after all.

Hmmm. I dont know the model. Mine has a rounded plastic top with nothing for them to get a grip of. Anyway, I'm happy so that's all that matters. Let you lads sort yourselves out.

I have a Tuffie bed for my lab. It's big heavy bed, and seems to be very well made from heavy duty cordura/canvas. There's a vetbed liner in it that didn't last long but the bed itself it still in good condition. Well worth the money.

Lol....bought one at a game fair. Slung it in the back of the truck with the dog. Didn't get 5 miles down the road and the thing had a hole , u could pass your head through. 30 mins later and back at the stall demanding my money back. Guy was desperate to hide the destroyed bed and chase me away. Tuffie ... what a joke.

If they want to destroy it you're not going to stop them. We make stuff out of ripstop truck tarpaulin material, and that's quite tough, but a determined dog would chew a hole in it no problem.
