Can anyone confirm, that May the first is when expanding bullets go back on section 1?
I've seen the B.A.S.C. statement, but it doesn't give a date.
Thanks,Ken.

As I read it, expanding 'bullets' will no longer be section 1, or 5, but assembled ammunition containing them, will be section 1, just like any other assembled ammunition.

Although the government is lifting restrictions are the postal company's going to lift them as well. ???????
Steve.
I've never posted any bullets: but I would imagine that the restrictions applied by the carriers are based on the fact that expanding bullets are currently categorised as 'Section 5 ammunition' - as opposed to a specifically-worded restriction on posting 'expanding bullets'.
If that is so, then I'm not sure the carriers/postal firms will have to change anything.

The problem you have is explaining to Doris who works in the local post office that bullets aren't complete rounds of ammunition. Best to tell her you're posting copper nuggets etc!

I've been buying non expanding bullets over the internet for some time and never had any problem with the post office. Since, as far as postage is concerned, an expanding bullet head is no more dangerous than a non expanding bullet head, I don't see why they should put any restrictions on handling them.

Cheers

You know that, and I know that, but the legislature did not...and have only just got round to righting their mistake. The post office probably just followed their lead. (sorry about the pun)
