Gloves

looking to get some new gloves for the winter currently have sealskinz shooting gloves but I don’t like the magnetic finger system as it keeps trying to attach itself to anything metal around me I have thought about removing the magnets or can anyone have recommend a better glove.

I also couldnt get on with the sealskinz, so went for a set of Laksen Moscow shooting gloves.

Fit, movement, warmth and flex are all ace.

Have done three game seasons and numerous winter stalks and they are still holding up well.

Would thoroughly recomend.

Russ, Peter and I find if you put you hands in the cold water until you have to take them out. Then they are warm all day......lol

Deerskin (buckskin) if you can get them from a friend in the USA are good and don't get ruined if they get soaked. I used to use the Bianchi ones. Or Mac Wet gloves. But I've never been able to shoot a double trigger shotgun well if wearing gloves so never wear them, so if using one so then I wear either no gloves and stick my hands in my pockets "until" or wear simple knitted or similar easily removed gloves I can easily take off using my teeth when the action is about to begin.

I use kayaking gloves - grippy and windproof. Most recent ones I bought have conductive fingertips so you can operate a smart phone without taking them off

You got the wrong Sealskinz. The other ones are much better! I have owned both. Wouldn't have another pair of fold back (No insulation what so ever) finger ones!

+1 for Macwets - excellent feel and grip making it easy to reload a rim fire mag, which was tricky with other gloves I’ve had in the past. I must be lucky too as the thinner gloves tend to keep my hands warmer - oddly a lot of people I know seem to struggle when it comes to finding the right gloves; I think it’s more down to you physiological make up and matching the glove type to suit.

Been using MacWets now for some time.
They seem good at moderating hand temperatures even when. Hot and wet.
Gets my approval.

I have Macwets for the summer stalking as i found that as soon as they are wet, they are wet for the day.

I have macwets but find them useless when it gets properly cold...but then it's difficult to find a happy medium. I had some sealskinz but can't find them anywhere. I have my eyes on some swedteam dry m gloves, my brother who lives in Sweden and works outside, including in the winter has recommended them.

Another one for Macwets, but they're in no way warm. Use them all year for stalking, just to take the white from my hands and also on a game day. Light, grippy and no problem with the trigger. Might be a clue in the name, they work when they're wet too..

I too like Macwets. When it gets really cold, I put a pair of Millar Mitts over the Macwets. I have used these for several years now.

Been stalking for 27 years and shooting for 58 years and in that time I have owned or tried every type and make of glove ever made, and I still come back to woollen knitted gloves, if they get wet they stay warm you just take them off wring them out and put them back on. In the summer light ones are cool and in the wi ter thinsulate lined ones are warm, i own about 10 sets all the others i have given away.

I use Lammi style gloves from Chester Jefferies. Keep your hands warm without restricting finger movement and dexterity.
