Tip Of The Week

Those with wire haired dogs who go stalking with you, pluck a finger full of hair and it makes an excellent wind checker!

For those that unfortunately suffer from IBS, my doc recomended a course of Probiotics which you can buy off the shelf at Boots.

Just finished a two month course and I can definately notice the difference.

Put everything you think you need to go stalking into a roesack - now empty it all out and only put in what you really need

I know a lot of you use Tripods and Quad sticks etc but if there are still one or two that use a Bipod, take a length of rope with a loop on each end long enough to put over the top of the sticks and enough to reach the ground to stand on.
With your foot on the grounded end of the rope, brace the sticks forward to give you a rigid 'Tripod' to shoot from.
When you have shot your Deer, use the rope to either hang it in a tree or use it as a drag rope.
If you are expecting, or lucky enough, to shoot more than one Deer, carry a spare rope or two in your pocket.

If your daughter,s being an absolute pain in the buttocks and your babysitting for her about ten minutes before handing your grandchucks back a can of full strength cola and a candy floss should be punishment for her mood swings

Wellies wet on the inside....? Don't bother with news paper - it stays wet. Go and buy a large pack of XL nappies, invert them - then stuff them down the wellies. They will absorb the damp and, unlike newspaper, WILL help dry them. The other bonus of this is one of your mates will no doubt see you in the supermarket buy them.... a day or so later, you go for a pint and you can just see rumours have been spreading.... and every one of you mates is gagging to ask.... It's called having the last laugh!!

Haha my dad bought my kids a drum kit last year to punish me.

Lasted a week...

If you're looking at deer at last light on a field that are too far away try walking straight towards them. No chance where you were, slight chance walking towards them. Works surprisingly often especially with roe.

Was having a rummage around the farm sheds yesterday morning, looking for something to use as a carcass tray in the the back of my pickup, without spending any money. Eventually came across an old stainless steel table that had come out of a catering premises, and was currently just kicking around surplus to requirements. The table top was only held on with some sticky stuff that had long since crumbled away, so I was able to simply lift the top off the base, turn it over, and hey presto! A lovely stainless steel tray, measuring 4ft x 2ft6ins.
A few hours later and I put it to the test with a nice fallow prickett. Perfect.

Use colour coded or matching bolt and ammo wallets. I would say foolproof but you never know...

Also the Led Lenser torch holders are great for rimfire bolts ( as pictured)

Looking for any tips on skinning with regards to hair. I share the garage/more a converted office with the family as as delicate as I am, I cant help but finding hair all over the place. I skinned a CWD the other week and it looked like my garage had had a fight with a mountain lion. There is no heating in there so floor is covered in cardboard so not the easiest to sweep. Anyone use a tarp?

Someone commented recently, about using a mod without the bushing, as he'd not yet got it bored to fit the barrel.
He said that it was a bit difficult to hold a sight picture after loosing a shot!

I use an ASE Utra Northstar on my .270. It's a over-barrel mod' with no rear bushing by design. It butts up against the thread shoulders and I can't say I've ever had an issue with it not needing a bush. Wonder why some need it, but this doesn't? :-|
