You obviously have some personal axe to grind against BASC. I don't. Nor do more than 150,000 members, it seems. But everyone is free to join whichever org they think is does things better. At present, the market leader is BASC. CA is struggling, just now - but perhaps it will do better in the future. Who knows. I have nothing against CA. They do some things well - even if they are not a shooting org. Arguably, they perform a useful function is hoovering up malcontents and providing some form of competition.
I do not defend BASC come what may. We need to keep them on their toes. However, I do know they have taken up legal cases for members. And it was BASC who funded the case that clarified handguns are allowed for humane dispatch, I seem to recall. And I do know BASC insurance has specific cover to make legal challenges to unfair revocations or refusals. (Not sure who makes the actual decision to proceed - the insurer?) Other orgs don't have such cover. That's all I am saying.
