Hi Folks, I’m just about to spend a one off ‘lifetime’ investment on the following:

Rifle: T3x CTR stainless Adjustable
Scope: Swarovski Z8i 3.5-28 x 50 P L with 1 x BTF.
Mod: Stalon XE108
Rings: Tier One for Picatinny 2 piece
Bipod: Harris HBLS 9-13

It’s a lot of money.....just looking for feedback on the kit please?

Thanks

Tikka, total acutrate work horse

Swarovski, some of the best glass you can buy

Stalon mod, its a moderator it makes the gun quite what else do you want

Tier one rings, good quality kit built to last and take abuse

Harris bipod, the original and probely best for the money

Stop fretting youve bought good and its going to see you good for years to come

Have a think on the scope. Do you really need an 8x Zoom. Would a 6x zoom give you all you need. If you want go down to low zoom have a look at what sort of field of view you actually get.

you might find a z6i 5-30x50 will do all you want and save a whole heap of cash.

if you want a wide angle for driven piggies, then a reddot or a 1-4 scope would be so much better.

i used a z6i withva 15 x top end last year. Very nice. But i ended up with a Leica which is just as good and seem ti be available for very good money.

but your money your choice

Great kit. Agree with Heym that if you wanted to save some you wouldn’t need to go z8i but it’s great and if it makes you smile every-time you look through it then just do it. If you just want a good scope and you’re worried about cash then buy a 2nd hand z6i and save a ton of money.

good evening ,your money your choice, if you are not sure don't spend the money but if you can afford it then buy it.no one can make your mind up .you are possibly buying very good kit but are you as a shooter going to be able to use it to the full or would some thing cheaper still be good enough for the job? I have seen so many people by very expensive shooting gear to only shoot out to 300 yards or use it to stalk 10 times a year, are you a collector of nice kit or a rifle user/shooter! good luck with your final choice.

have you shot many at 300 yards? you will need all the magnification you can get or better still STALK INTO THE DEER!

Just my thoughts:
Look on Guntrader for previously loved pricing for the rifle.
Swaro glass is superb, as is Customer Support, but look at Z6i pricing. 3-18x50 will do everything from woodland stalking to 600yd range work.
Buy a new mod.
Harris bipods arent cheap, so look on eBay or here for used. Also look at knock offs. They do work and are £20-30.
Don't be afraid to buy used kit. I've not bought much new as I'm a bit tight, but be patient and you'll have budget left over for range days to get used to the rig.
Enjoy. This is your first step to madness and bankruptcy!?!
EDIT: Buy an AIM drag bag. The best investment to keep your kit in one piece

Superb kit. There's a lot out there that will do the same job for a lot less money though.

Is your choice governed by needing it, or wanting it? :-|:)

Emotion and confidence are complex things. If you really like the look. Feel. Belief its best for you of this kit you will undoubtedly shoot better with it. Cognitive dissonance is absolute. Go with your heart. Forget opinions. Factory rifles all shoot well. None of the kit you lost is rubbish

Too much scope IMO - 3-10x50 will be more than enough for stalking.
Apart from that, alles gut!

Indeed. What is the intended use?

Is it your first setup or do you have experience? If you have experience, crack on if you can afford it and buy what makes you happy. If it is your first time, I would think long and hard before spending that much. I speak from experience of glass addiction ha ha ha. Changing your mind until you find the perfect solution gets costly.

It is an illness that I am not alone in having.

Havent said what calibre so a bit OTT for an HMR

Like other suggestions, would drop the base mag down on the scope.

Personally would buy the bipod second hand unless its being thrown in and would go for the Stalon W145 overbarelled mod instead.

Teir ones great mounts.
