Yes I do. I suffer with tinnitus anyway so might be a bit late. Use the peltor sportac defenders. Did have some in ear ones but I have narrow ear canals and a lot of wax

My personal opinion coming from a K95 stutzen 30-06 perspective is that is enough. Any more energy than 3000 ftlb is uncomfortable off the bench. In the field offhand or off sticks no problems but 20 down the range off the bags will leave ones shoulder a bit sore.

I'm just trying to finalize my caliber before I order a k95, its probably going to be a 6.5x55, .308 or maybe a rimmed cartridge.
It seems you have to go to grade 6 wood to get the nice dark grain ,so it's either a luxus and upgrade or black edition. It's alot of coin to be disappointed when it arrives so have been following everyone's comments on the k95 for some time. The 7x57r on this latest thread is one great looking rifle!
For me, it has to be a rimmed cartridge, in keeping with the rifle. 7x57r, enough for anything I'm likely to want to shoot with it, without being too kicky in a light rifle.

Why not think about the 6.5x57R it is an excellent little round very comfortable to shoot.

Had the same dilemmas. Went for black edition to make sure of wood and a bit of bling!
I already shoot 6.5x55 so thought of buying same. Swithered with a 7x64 but didn’t want anything too flippy. Spoke to 7x57 owners and there was a feeling that this would be not to bad with recoil. In the end I was able to shoot a 308 carbon K95 at Braces day and this was very manageable.
I went in the end for the 7x57R just to be different from the 6.5x55 and I’m glad I did. It’s as mild as the 6.5, on small numbers so far it knocks them over and it’s a 275 Rigby
Which ever k95 you get you will enjoy it.
Pretty much all of the K95's are made to order, and if you order from Grade 5, certainly Grade 6, you can insist on getting pictures of the wood you will get.
There is NO WAY I would order a rifle costing this type of money, without seeing what I was getting. It was a special order, my dealer had to take it, and I promised I would take the rifle, if I got to choose the wood.
Get pictures, and the serial number of the wood, or stock, because the first time mine turned up, it didn't have the wood I chose, it came with a "scaffold plank" !
It took some time to sort out, but very happy now !

Incidentally merkel have a K5 out which is very nice and just a touch over £3k. Very very similar to the K95 black edition

I waiting for a non stutzen, longer barrel to come up for sale, maybe 7x65r, or a 6.5x68 might tempt me

I have a 6.5x57R barrel and it is truly stunning. Laser flat with 100gr and very flexible. The rim does make it handle better on loading/reloading.
That's very good advice I will certainly look into doing that when I put the order in. Would be dam hard to sort out down here in nz should they get it wrong. I have yet to see a black edition with poor wood but anything can happen. Thanks again.
