Advice please Scottish Lockdown

Right then advice needed for Scotland,
Some bloke from the Fife area owes me over £500 quids worth of motorbike parts, and he says lock down this, kin lockdown that, post office is closed , all sorts of bo,,ocks,
as you can tell its starting to really p,ss me of , its been 5 weeks now,
So my question to the scottish lads , are the post offices parcel delivery services as normal ?
If so hes going to get a court order early next week, its not the parts or value, this bloke is just trying to have me over, and i dont like being had.

Most definitely send a letter of intention first, or even an email, they will want to see you have tried initial, alternative, methods to settle the issue.

Shame it is lockdown, and so far away..........A knock on the door often works!

Agree that PO is open but you are only allowed to leave your home for limited essential purposes and I would question if visiting the post office to post a parcel is essential (depends if the contents are essential I suppose)

That doesn't stop the bar steward from having the parcel collected by a courier though

Surely the very fact that the government has allowed post offices to remain open is sufficient for us to infer that using one counts as 'essential?' Or do they plan to open all letters and parcels in order to attribute a score to each of them?
 
latest Scottish Govt guidelines (effective from Saturday) is the you "must not leave or remain outside" the home unless it is for an essential purpose.

Post Offices will be required to be open for sending essential items but not all items are essential.

It's all about reducing the "excuse" for leaning home

Who is validating the relative 'essentialness' of the posted items? The post office? The police? Someone else?

Many online businesses use post offices to send all sorts of items (from dildos to dog-chews). Are these exempt or are they also checked by this army of mail-rummagers?

That I suppose is up to the individuals conscious.

Is the mind set "is this really necessary" or is it "can I stretch the guidance/law to make it fit my desire)

Nonsense. You're making up rules that don't exist. Nowhere in law has the Scottish government specified what may and may not (in the covid context) be sent by post.

Grandkids are getting birthday presents, grandmothers are getting Mills & Boone, dogs are getting chews, and ladies are receiving their dildos.

The post office keeps us connected while allowing us to stay apart. That's why the government is keeping them open.
